Next year’s Penguins Swimming Academy® comes to EISB with its innovative swimming method for families.

Starting in October, EISB will offer new swimming courses for pregnant women, babies and children from 0 to 6 years old.
Penguins classes are in English and are held in small groups where the connection with the teacher is total.
Penguins is also the only certified center in Barcelona where pregnant women can prepare for childbirth in the water with the AIPAP® method under the guidance of expert midwives. [/av_textblock]

Course offerings

Pregnancy classes

The waterbirth classes sessions are 40 minutes long and are conducted by midwives specialized in the aquatic environment.
Currently medical centers such as Dexeus and multiple gynecologists in Barcelona are recommending the AIPAP method, as it has proven to be very beneficial during pregnancy and promote optimal childbirth. [/av_textblock]

Baby Penguins (0-2 years)

The classes are dynamic and each exercise has specific objectives that favor the baby’s development.
The Penguins Method © , inspired by a renowned Swedish swimming school, Linneasimskola, seeks to stimulate the development of babies at all levels (psychomotor, sensory, intellectual and social), and enable them to feel safe, agile and happy in the water by working sequences of aquatic safety and movement.
In the classes we sing songs in English because music is a fundamental element in the infant stage.
In addition, through the songs, the babies relax.
Each baby develops its class in the pool with 1 or 2 adults and there is always a teacher in the water. [/av_textblock]

White Penguins (2-3 years)

The goal is to transition the child to autonomy in the water without flotation devices.
The method focuses on giving the child a lot of confidence, capturing their attention through fun stories and teaching aquatic skills through play.
Children enter the water with an adult so that they feel confident.
Classes are guided and there is always a teacher in the water with the adults and children.

Blue and Orange Penguins (3-6 years)

The focus at this age is to promote the intrinsic motivation of all students by creating an affective, empathetic and professional environment that allows for great results in each swimming class.
The groups are small (maximum 4 children per teacher) and are divided by level.
We always work without flotation devices and with creative material so that they learn quickly, always with fun and playful activities.
The activities reinforce the child’s confidence and self-esteem in the water and, at the same time, a correct swimming technique is taught from the beginning.
Classes last 40 minutes and families can attend the sessions to observe their children’s progress and enjoyment in each class.

Facilities

The classes will be held in the school’s small pool.
The water will be treated with salt and medium pressure ultraviolet, and will be kept at a very pleasant temperature, suitable for babies.
In this way they will be able to enjoy the activity in optimal conditions throughout the year.
