International year of light and light-based technologies
On December 20, 2013, the United Nations General Assembly, at its 68th session, proclaimed 2015 the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies (IYL 2015).
Light plays a crucial role in our daily lives and has played an essential role in 21st century science.
XXI CENTURY.
It has revolutionized the field of medicine, opened up international communication through the Internet, and continues to be the linchpin of the cultural, economic and political aspects of global society.
In this edition of Science Week, at Europa International School we will raise awareness among our students about the importance of light and its energy sources through different activities and workshops.
From observing bubbles and the visible light spectrum with our one-year-olds, to the visit of TV3/24 meteorologist Enric Agud, a scientific picnic with Marc Boada or the research work of ESO students on the northern lights.
Throughout the science week we hope to be able to shed a lot of light on this topic!
It’s going to be a science week that will shine brightly!
